Sensor Expansion Board for NE101 and NE301
$23.00
Board-only expansion PCBA for NeoEyes NE101 and NE301. Add compatible sensors, audio, displays and GPIO interrupt control to custom edge AI devices. Sensor modules, displays, cables, cameras and mainboards are sold separately. NE301 is the primary reference platform; NE101 requires driver adaptation and validation.
For a complete bundle, see the NE301 Multi-Sensor Expansion Development Kit
Product Overview
The Sensor Expansion Board adds sensor, audio, display and hardware interrupt capabilities to NeoEyes NE101 and NE301 mainboards. It is intended for developers and system integrators building custom sensing devices, rather than customers looking for a ready-to-use camera or complete evaluation kit.
The board supports modular combinations of sensors such as PIR, 24 GHz radar, ToF, temperature and humidity, ambient light, 6-axis IMU and thermopile sensors. Developers can connect displays and audio components for local status output, voice prompts or event interaction. The Sensor Expansion Board guide covers supported interfaces, sensor options and integration details. The final sensor, enclosure and firmware configuration depends on the project.
For a ready evaluation bundle, choose the NE301 Multi-Sensor Expansion Development Kit instead.
- Multi-sensor integration: Supports 8+ sensor types, including PIR, radar, ToF, temperature and humidity, ambient light, IMU and thermopile sensors.
- Flexible interfaces: Provides I2C, UART, SPI and GPIO paths for sensor, display, audio and interrupt integration.
- Low-power event triggering: Supported sensor configurations can wake the main processor through GPIO hardware interrupts. Sleep current can reach approximately 7 to 8 μA, depending on the mainboard, sensors and firmware.
- Built for custom projects: Suitable for sensing prototypes, people counting, environmental monitoring and industrial event detection.
Key Features
Sensor and Interface Expansion
Integrate compatible sensors through I2C, UART, SPI and GPIO. Supported use cases include motion and presence detection, proximity triggering, environmental monitoring, vibration detection and thermal sensing.
Audio and Display Integration
The board provides paths for microphone, audio codec, speaker and SPI display integration. Microphones, speakers, codecs, displays and connection cables are not included unless separately configured.
Hardware Interrupt Wake-Up
PIR, radar, ToF and IMU events can be used to wake the main processor through GPIO hardware interrupts in supported configurations. Actual power consumption and wake-up behavior depend on the selected mainboard, sensor combination and firmware.
Custom Enclosure Support
Project-specific enclosure design may require ventilation, optical openings, RF-transparent materials or acoustic protection. Validate the complete assembly before production deployment.
Important Compatibility Notice
- NE301: Primary reference platform with existing sensor driver and application examples.
- NE101: Hardware connection is possible, but sensor expansion requires IO mapping, driver adaptation and firmware validation. It is not a plug-and-play configuration.
- Required separately: An NE101 or NE301 mainboard is required for operation. Sensor modules, displays, cables, cameras and enclosure parts are not included with this board-only SKU.
