Product Overview
NeoEyes NE301 PoE is the wired-power version of CamThink’s STM32N6 edge AI camera. It is designed for installations where stable Ethernet and continuous operation matter more than battery runtime, such as outdoor monitoring points, smart facility inspection, equipment rooms, construction sites, utility sites, and other unattended edge deployments.
The PoE version supplies both power and network connectivity through a standard Ethernet cable when used with an IEEE 802.3af PoE switch or injector. It keeps the NE301 Web UI workflow for device setup, model deployment, stream configuration, data reporting, and firmware management. For platform setup and first-time access, use the NE301 PoE quick start guide.
Inside the camera, the STM32N657L0H3 combines an Arm Cortex-M55 core with ST’s Neural-ART accelerator for local visual inference. The factory model is YOLOv8 Nano object detection, and developers can replace model packages through the Web UI. NE301 PoE can report inference results through MQTT/MQTTS or Webhook, stream video through RTMP/RTSP, and connect with external trigger devices through Alarm IO or RS485.
If your deployment needs Wi-Fi, LTE Cat.1, or battery-oriented operation, choose the NeoEyes NE301 Wireless Edge AI Camera instead.
Key Features
PoE Power and Wired Ethernet
NE301 PoE uses IEEE 802.3af PoE to carry power and data through one Ethernet cable. This reduces cabling complexity for fixed installations and removes battery runtime as a deployment limit. It is better suited than the wireless version for continuous capture, scheduled monitoring, and video streaming workloads.
STM32N6 on-device AI
The camera runs visual inference locally on the STM32N6 Neural-ART accelerator, rated up to 600 GOPS / 0.6 TOPS. The factory model is YOLOv8 Nano for COCO 80-class object detection. For custom model work, use the NE301 model training and deployment guide.
Web UI Setup and Model Deployment
The built-in Web UI supports live preview, AI overlay, model management, model validation, inference parameter tuning, media streaming settings, data reporting, storage management, firmware upgrade, and configuration import/export. The PoE version still uses the local NE301 Wi-Fi AP for initial Web UI access.
MQTT, Webhook, RTMP, and RTSP Integration
NE301 PoE can publish AI inference results and device data through MQTT/MQTTS or send one-way HTTP(S) data through Webhook. MQTT is suitable for bidirectional workflows with remote commands, while Webhook is simpler for one-way reporting. The MQTT data interaction guide documents topics, JSON payloads, and client setup.
For video-based monitoring, NE301 PoE supports RTMP and RTSP streaming through the Web UI. Wired Ethernet and continuous PoE power make the PoE version a better fit for streaming than battery-oriented wireless deployments. Use the RTMP video streaming guide when setting up a streaming workflow.
Outdoor and Trigger-Ready Deployment
NE301 PoE uses the NE301 IP67 enclosure and is suitable for fixed outdoor installations when the Ethernet cable and mounting setup are properly protected. It supports PIR, Alarm IO, RS485, scheduled capture, remote commands, and AI detection workflows. For motion-triggered capture, see the PIR sensor integration guide.
Lens Options for Different Scenes
NE301 PoE is available with 51 deg, 88 deg, and 137 deg fixed-focus lens options. The 51 deg lens is better for narrower scenes and longer working distance, the 88 deg lens fits general monitoring, and the 137 deg lens fits wide close-range coverage. For lens replacement or optical testing, see the M12 Mount Lens.
Lens Configuration
| Option | Lens / Focus | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|
| 51° | 6 mm fixed focus, 4 m focus distance | Narrower scenes, longer working distance |
| 88° | 3 mm fixed focus, 3 m focus distance | General monitoring and balanced coverage |
| 137° | 2.5 mm fixed focus, 2 m focus distance | Wide area coverage and close-range scenes |
