The NeoEdge NG4500-CB01 is a board-only carrier for Jetson Orin Nano 4GB/8GB and Orin NX 8GB/16GB. It provides dual Gigabit Ethernet, USB, industrial I/O, M.2 expansion and dual 4-lane MIPI CSI inputs for custom edge AI systems. Jetson module, cooling, storage, power and peripherals are sold separately. For an enclosure-ready system, choose the NG4500 Jetson Orin AI box.

    Product Overview

    The NeoEdge NG4500-CB01 is the carrier board used by the NG4500 platform. It gives developers direct access to Jetson Orin Nano and Orin NX compute modules while adding the networking, storage, camera and industrial interfaces needed for machine vision, robotics, automation and AIoT gateway prototypes. Compute performance comes from the Jetson module you install, so the board can be paired with a lower-power Orin Nano or a higher-memory Orin NX configuration.

    The board has two Gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 3.1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C port, HDMI, audio, RS232, RS485, CAN, four isolated digital inputs and four isolated digital outputs. Two M.2 Key M slots support system and secondary storage. Separate Key B and Key E slots provide cellular and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth expansion, while two 4-lane MIPI CSI connectors support camera development.     Product Key Features

    Jetson Orin module support

    The 260-pin SO-DIMM socket accepts Jetson Orin Nano 4GB/8GB and Orin NX 8GB/16GB modules. Select the module according to model size, memory demand, power budget and thermal design. CPU, GPU, Tensor core count and TOPS are module specifications, not carrier-board specifications.

    Networking and industrial I/O

    Dual 100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports support separate device and upstream network paths. RS232, RS485, CAN, four isolated DI channels and four isolated DO channels let the board connect to sensors, controllers, alarms and industrial equipment without relying only on USB.

    Storage and wireless expansion

    The board provides two M.2 Key M 2280 slots, one with a 4-lane PCIe path and one with a 1-lane PCIe path. Use the 4-lane slot for the primary NVMe system drive. M.2 Key B supports cellular expansion, and M.2 Key E 2230 supports Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modules.

    Camera, display and audio paths

    Two 4-lane MIPI CSI connectors support camera integration. HDMI output, a 3.5 mm audio jack and additional audio headers support local display, microphone, line-level and speaker integration. Camera and audio hardware may require driver or device-tree work.

    Board-level expansion and recovery

    A 14-pin FFC connector exposes GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART and 3.3 V power for custom peripherals. The board also includes debug, recovery, reset, power-button, fan and RTC connections for development and system integration. Use the published interface and module configuration guide when assigning pins or enabling interfaces.

    Q: Does this product include a Jetson Orin module?

    A: No. This SKU is the NG4500-CB01 carrier board only. Choose and purchase the Jetson Orin Nano or Orin NX module separately.

    Q: Can the carrier board run without a fan?
    A: The carrier board itself does not provide cooling for the Jetson module. Install a qualified heat sink and fan or another validated thermal solution before operation.

    Q: Which slot should I use for the system SSD?
    A: Use the 4-lane M.2 Key M 2280 slot for the primary NVMe system drive. The second Key M slot has a 1-lane PCIe path and is better suited to secondary storage.

    Q: Can I add Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G or 5G?
    A: Yes. The board provides M.2 Key E for supported Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modules and M.2 Key B plus a Nano SIM slot for supported 4G/5G modules. Modules, antennas, SIM and service plan are not included.

    Q: Is JetPack pre-installed?

    A: The carrier board has no storage or Jetson module, so it cannot ship with an installed JetPack system. Flash a compatible CamThink image for the installed module by following the current system flashing guide.
